 PERSONAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN (PPDP)

Ashlyn S
Ashlyn S. - Featured Student Artist
All professional development activities are based on Wisconsin Professional Teaching Standards -
  • This plan is designed for all licensed staff to achieve professional growth. The Personal Professional Development Plan cannot be used to evaluate licensed staff
  • All licensed staff members are encouraged to make a Personal Professional Development Plan for each school year
  • The development of the PPDP is followed by a conference with the building administrator by November of each school year
  • The list of possible activities is virtually endless. The critical consideration is how an activity assists a teacher to move toward his or her professional goals

PPDP activities include:
  • Graduate course work
  • District sponsored courses

Independent study or research which may include but is not limited to:

  • Observations of and discussion with other professionals skilled in the area identified for focus
  • Reading of books and articles, watching and analyzing professional videos
  • Collection and analysis of student work from one's own teaching
  • The plan is intended to be flexible so that areas can be expanded upon or deleted as needed.
